DAY 01Changsha
Mountain, academy and river light
Meet your private guide for hotel, station or airport pick-up. Begin around Yuelu Mountain and Yuelu Academy, where old trees and scholarly courtyards reveal a quieter side of the city. Continue to Orange Isle for a walk beside the Xiang River and a relaxed sunset view. Overnight in Changsha.
DAY 02Changsha
History, neighbourhoods and bold flavour
Visit the Hunan Museum or another cultural stop chosen around your interests, then explore Taiping Street and the old lanes around central Changsha. The afternoon can include a local market, creative district or tea break before an evening food walk through the city's signature snacks and Hunan dishes. Overnight in Changsha.
DAY 03Changsha → Zhangjiajie
Into the sandstone forest
Travel privately to Zhangjiajie and enter the National Forest Park. Ride the Bailong Elevator or an alternative scenic route to Yuanjiajie, then walk between dramatic pillars and elevated viewpoints. Continue toward Tianzi Mountain as time and conditions allow. Overnight near Wulingyuan.
DAY 04Zhangjiajie → Fenghuang
A gateway in the sky
Spend the morning on Tianmen Mountain, ascending by cableway for cliffside scenery, forest paths and panoramic platforms. The route can be adapted for weather and your activity level. In the afternoon, travel by private vehicle to Fenghuang Ancient Town and enjoy an introductory riverside walk after the lanterns begin to glow. Overnight in Fenghuang.
DAY 05Fenghuang Ancient Town
Bridges, lanes and the Tuojiang River
Explore Fenghuang at a gentler morning pace, following stone lanes past historic residences, city gates and riverside stilt houses. Add a traditional boat ride on the Tuojiang River and time for local crafts or cafés before drop-off at the agreed hotel, railway station or onward transfer point.
